Beef Tomato Soup Recipe

Ingredients:
3.5 oz./ 100 g beef tenderloin, cut into thin strips
2 tomatoes, peeled, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tbsp. ketchup, as needed
1 tbsp. ground black pepper
1 tbsp. chopped scallion
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. white sugar
1 tsp. salt, or to taste
1 tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 4 tbsps.water in a bowl

Directions:
1. Place beef strips in boiling water, parboil for 2-3 minutes, drain well and set aside.
2. Place a wok over medium-high heat, pour into cups water, swirl into 1 tbsp. ketchup and 1 tbsp. white sugar, add back the tomato cubes and beef strips, and then bring to a gentle boil.
3. When boiling, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes.

4. At last, stir the cornstarch and water mixture and swirl into the wok, stirring constantly until thicken.
5. Season with salt and ground black pepper as desired, sprinkling with 1 tbsp. sesame oil and 1 tbsp. chopped scallion before serving.
6. Ladle into warmed bowls and serve hot.
