Garlicky Beef with Beer Stew Recipe

Serves 2
Ingredients:
1-2 bottles beer
200g / 7 oz. beef, cut into large
10 garlic cloves
1-2 tbsps. chili bean sauce
2 tbsps. vegetable oil for stir-frying
Marinade:
5 slices ginger
1 tbsp. rice wine, or dry sherry
1 tbsp. light soy sauce
1 stalk scallion, cut into sections
1 tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 4 tbsps. water in a bowl
Directions:
1. Combine the beef with the marinade in a big mixing bowl, let marinate for about 15 minutes.

2. Preheat a wok over high heat for at least 30 seconds before adding 2 tbsps. vegetable oil, when the oil is hot, stir fry marinated beef over medium heat, add chili bean sauce when beef turns color.

3. Add enough beer so that covers the beef, put on the lid and stew over medium high heat for about 5 minutes.

4. Put garlic cloves into the wok, continue to cook until soften.

5. Remove from the wok to a plate, serve hot.
