Flavored Roasted Peanuts Recipe

Serves 2.
Ingredients:
7 oz./ 200 g peanuts
1 tbsp. chili powder
5 tbsps. white sugar
1 tsp. salt, or to taste
1 tbsp. five-spice powder
1 tbsp. Szechuan peppercorn powder
3-5 tbsps. vegetable oil for dip-frying
Directions:
1. Microwave the peanuts over medium heat until cooked, if you do not have a microwave at hand, please heat 3-5 tbsps. vegetable oil in a wok, when it is shimmering on the bottom and very hot, but not yet smoking, add the peanuts and stir fry over low to medium heat, wrinkled and lightly browned through for about 3 minutes before finished, stirring with fork or chopsticks continually.
2. Remove to a plate, and then let cool for about 5 minutes, peel then.

3. Preheat a separate wok over low heat for about 30 seconds, then add 5 tbsps. white sugar and 1/2 cup water, cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes.

4. When the water is reduced, add all the other sesaonings into it, stirring over low heat until thickens.
5. Add all the peanuts back into the wok in question, stirring, gently toss once or twice, until coated well.
6. Remove from the heat to a plate, and then cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
