Cabbage

Cabbage is an average vegetable that has a compact head with leaves tightly wrapped; cabbage comes into various colors, such as purple, green, white or red.

Season:
The green, red and white cabbages are available year-round in many supermarkets.

Purchasing tips:
When choosing cabbage, select the firmly packed cabbage with fresh and crisp leaves wrapped with, also the head of which should feel heavy for its size. Avoid cabbage with yellowed, limp leaves with browned, wilted spots, or even with split stem end.

Storage:
Store cabbage in plastic bags then put it in the refrigerator for about a week.

Preparation and Usage:
Firstly cut off the hard stem end, which has a strong taste, and discard any browned or wilted leaves, before you rinse thoroughly under running water cut it into thin wedges, when finished, cut it into slices or according to the recipes and it is now ready for cooking.
