Dried lily buds are the unopened flowers of day lilies, usually yellow-golden in color, with a slightly musky taste.

Golden needles, or tiger lilies.

Dried lily buds are available in supermarkets and Asian stores year-round, usually sold in plastic bags.
Purchasing tips:
When choosing lily buds, select ones that are pale in color, and not brittle.
Storage:
Store dried lily buds in a jar or container, place in a cool and dry place.
Preparation and Usage:
Cut off 1/4 inch of the woody stem end, then soak them in warm water for about 20 minutes. Use in whole or cut in half, and add into soups or stir-fries.
