Green Beans
Green bean is a thinner type bean that is green in color and crispy in texture, it has a firm edible pod, inside the pod are the peas-like seeds. Green bean is rich in vitamin C, and commonly stir-fried with pork, or other vegetables like carrot, and corn.

You can find fresh, canned, even frozen green beans in supermarkets and Asian stores.
Purchasing tips:
When choosing green beans, select firm and green ones, avoid mould, wilted beans with brown spots on the pod.
Storage:
Store unwashed green beans in a plastic bag, and refrigerate in the vegetabel crisper, which will last for 3 – 4 days.
Preparation and Usage:
Discard the string before rinsing, then cut widthwise into 1-inch sections, ready to cook. Green bean is usually stir fried with meat and other vegetables in Chinese cooking.
