Green Peas

Green peas, or sweet peas, are members of the legume family that contain small peas lined inside the pods. They are commonly used in broth for flavor, but the strings are unedible.

Garden peas, english peas, sweet peas.
Season:
Green peas are available from February to September.
Purchasing tips:
When purchasing, select the pods that are bright green in color and velvety in texture, with peas barely fill the pod. Try to avoid flat, wilted, or mouldy peas.
Storage:
Place green peas in a plastic bag and refrigerate for about 2-3 days.
Preparation and Usage:
Pop open the pods and discard, use the peas.
