Sesame Seeds
Sesame seeds are small, black or tan seeds with a pleasing flavor. They come in two types, black and white, black sesame seeds are fragrant in flavor, while the white ones are more delicate by contrast. Toasted sesame oil, and roasted sesame paste, are the common products made from sesame seeds. Toasted sesame oil is a common flavoring in Asian countries, commonly used in salads, but can not be employed as a frying oil while you deep-frying, sauting, or boiling; the roasted sesame paste is usually mixed with water or vinegar and thus serves as a dipping sauce in Chinese dishes.
