Tomato Beef Soup Recipe
A hearty and tasty tomato beef soup is a Chinese classic dish that won't leave you hungry.

Serves 2
Ingredients:
3.5 oz./ 100 g beef tenderloin, cut into thin strips
2 tomatoes, peeled, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tbsp. chopped scallion
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. ketchup, or to taste
1 tbsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt, or to taste
1 tbsp. sugar, or to taste
1 tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 4 tbsps.water in a bowl

Directions:
1. Parboil beef strips in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes, drain well and set aside for later use.
2. Place a wok over medium-high heat, pour into 2-3 cups water, swirl into 1 tbsp. ketchup and 1 tbsp. sugar, add tomato cubes and beef strips, bring them to a boil.
3. When boiling, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5 minutes.

4. At last, stir into cornstarch and water mixture, stirring constantly until thicken.
5. Taste and season with salt and ground black pepper as desired, sprinkle 1 tbsp. sesame oil and 1 tbsp. chopped scallion over them before serving.
6. Ladle into warmed bowls, serve hot.
