Description

Air Fryer Tandoori Chicken is a juicy, tender, and flavorful Indian-inspired dish cooked quickly in the air fryer. Marinated in a vibrant yogurt and spice blend, this recipe delivers authentic tandoori taste with a crispy charred exterior without needing a grill or tandoor.


Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs or drumsticks (bone-in, skin removed)

  • Plain Greek yogurt (full fat)

  • Garlic paste

  • Ginger paste

  • Lemon juice

  • Garam masala

  • Ground cumin

  • Ground coriander

  • Turmeric powder

  • Red chili powder or paprika

  • Salt

  • Cooking oil (optional, for brushing)

  • Fresh cilantro or mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine Greek yogurt, garlic paste, ginger paste, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, and salt to form the marinade. Mix well.

  • Add chicken pieces to the marinade, coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.

  • Arrange marinated chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.
