Description

Apple Pie Egg Rolls are crispy, golden desserts filled with sweet, spiced apples and warm cinnamon, offering a fun, handheld twist on classic apple pie. Perfect for frying or baking, these egg rolls are ideal for parties, holidays, or cozy family gatherings, especially when paired with caramel or vanilla dipping sauces.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples (Granny Smith or Fuji)

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 12 egg roll wrappers

  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Optional: caramel sauce or powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling:
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes until apples are tender and filling thickens.
Remove from heat and cool slightly.

  • Assemble the Egg Rolls:
Place one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape with a corner facing you.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of apple filling near the corner closest to you.
Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly toward the opposite corner.
Brush the final corner with beaten egg to seal.
Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

  • Fry the Egg Rolls:
Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
    Drain on paper towels.

  • Serve:
Serve warm with caramel sauce or dust with powdered sugar.
