Description

Caramel Apple Crack is a delightfully addictive sweet-and-salty snack featuring layers of crispy saltine crackers topped with rich, gooey caramel and crunchy nuts. This easy, no-bake treat is perfect for fall gatherings, holiday parties, or anytime you crave a crunchy caramel indulgence with a perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers (about 1 sleeve)

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramel candies

  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans or walnuts

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Optional: sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.

  2. Arrange Crackers: Place saltine crackers in a single layer covering the entire pan.

  3. Make Caramel Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil without stirring for 3 minutes.

  4. Add Vanilla and Pour: Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and immediately pour caramel evenly over crackers.

  5. Bake: Bake for 5-7 minutes until caramel is bubbly.

  6. Add Nuts: Remove from oven and sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the caramel layer, pressing lightly to adhere.

  7. Cool and Set: Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.Serve: Break into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

Use a sharp, warmed knife for cleaner cuts.Substitute nuts with seeds for a nut-free version. For extra flair, drizzle melted chocolate or sprinkle sea salt on top.Saltines provide the ideal salty crunch; graham crackers or buttery crackers are great alternatives.
