Ingredients
-
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
-
½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
-
1 cup mini marshmallows (for extra gooeyness)
- Optional: Chocolate chips, sprinkles, or nuts for rolling
Instructions
-
Melt the Butter and Marshmallows:
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add mini marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth. -
Add the Caramel:
Stir in caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and salt (if using). Mix until well combined. -
Mix in the Rice Krispies:
Remove from heat. Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated with the marshmallow and caramel mixture. If adding mini marshmallows, fold them in now. -
Shape the Balls:
Let the mixture cool for 5-10 minutes to avoid burning your hands. Grease your hands with butter or cooking spray and roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. -
Optional Coating:
Roll the balls in chocolate chips, sprinkles, or chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor. -
Cool and Set:
Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them cool completely and firm up for about 30 minutes. -
Serve and Enjoy:
Once set, serve and enjoy these deliciously gooey treats with family and friends.
