Description

Chinese Buffet Green Beans are a crunchy, flavorful side dish featuring fresh green beans stir-fried with garlic, soy, and oyster sauce. This quick and easy recipe delivers the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and slightly spicy flavors, just like your favorite Chinese buffet.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional garnish: toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Blanch Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender and bright green. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water. Drain again and set aside.

  • Stir-Fry Garlic: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add Green Beans: Stir-fry green beans for 2-3 minutes.

  • Add Sauce: Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Cook 1-2 minutes until beans are evenly coated and heated through.

  • Season and Serve: Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes
