Description

Cinnamon-Vanilla Creamy Custard Pie is a rich, velvety dessert with a perfect blend of cinnamon and vanilla. This creamy, indulgent custard filling is baked in a crisp pie crust, making it a comforting and delightful dessert ideal for special occasions, holidays, or a cozy treat at home.

Ingredients

For the Pie Crust:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if preferred)

For the Custard Filling:

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for a thicker custard)

  • Pinch of salt

For the Topping (optional):

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

  • A sprinkle of cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place your pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.

  2. Make the Custard Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt until smooth. Add the vanilla extract, heavy cream, and whole milk to the mixture, whisking to combine. If you prefer a thicker custard, add the cornstarch to the mixture and whisk until fully dissolved.

  3. Fill the Pie Crust: Pour the custard filling into the prepared pie crust. Gently tap the pie dish on the counter to settle the filling.

  4. Bake the Pie: Place the pie in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly wobbly when you gently shake the pie dish. The edges of the crust should be golden brown, and a toothpick or knife inserted into the center of the custard should come out clean or with only a few moist crumbs.

  5. Cool: Allow the pie to cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the custard set fully.

  6. Serve: Serve chilled, topped with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for an extra touch of flavor.

Notes

Spiced Up: Add a pinch of ground ginger, cardamom, or allspice to the custard mixture for a spicier twist.Chocolate Custard Pie: Add 1/4 cup of cocoa powder to the custard mixture for a chocolate-flavored version.Coconut Custard Pie: Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded coconut into the custard mixture for a tropical flavor.
