Description

Creamy Mushroom Chicken is a comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a rich, velvety mushroom sauce. Sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and herbs combine in a creamy base to create an easy and satisfying meal perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • Olive oil or butter

  • Fresh mushrooms (sliced)

  • Garlic cloves (minced)

  • Onion (optional, diced)

  • Chicken broth

  • Heavy cream or half-and-half

  • Fresh thyme or parsley

  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  • Cook chicken: Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden and cooked through (5-7 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.

  • Sauté mushrooms and aromatics: Add more oil or butter if needed. Cook mushrooms until browned and moisture evaporates (5-6 minutes). Add garlic and onion (if using) and cook 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Make sauce: Pour in chicken broth, scraping browned bits from the pan. Simmer and reduce slightly. Stir in cream and herbs. Cook until sauce thickens (3-5 minutes).

  • Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm over rice, pasta, or potatoes.
