Description

Easy Cracker Toffee Cookie, also known as “Christmas Crack,” is a buttery, crunchy, and sweet treat made with saltine crackers, homemade toffee, and melted chocolate. This no-bake dessert is perfect for holidays, parties, or as a sweet indulgence. Quick and easy to make, Christmas Crack is a festive favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, crushed candy canes, sprinkles, sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 10×15-inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and spray with nonstick spray.

  2. Layer the crackers: Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  3. Make the toffee: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together. Stir constantly until boiling. Let it boil for 3 minutes without stirring.

  4. Pour the toffee: Pour the hot toffee over the crackers, spreading evenly with a spatula.

  5. Bake: Bake for 5 minutes.

  6. Add chocolate: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.

  7. Add toppings: Sprinkle your choice of toppings while the chocolate is still soft.

  8. Chill: Let the toffee cool, then refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

  9. Serve: Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
