Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fritos corn chips

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans or pinto beans (optional)

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or enchilada sauce

  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • Sliced jalapeños (optional)

  • Chopped green onions or fresh cilantro (for garnish)

  • Sour cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic until cooked through. Drain excess fat.

  2. Stir in chili powder, cumin, diced tomatoes, beans, and tomato or enchilada sauce. Simmer for 15-20 minutes to blend flavors.

  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  4. In individual baking dishes or a casserole dish, layer a generous handful of Fritos.
