Description

Fruit Salad is a refreshing, vibrant, and healthy dish made with a mix of fresh, juicy fruits. Perfect for any occasion, this easy-to-make, naturally sweet dessert or snack is packed with vitamins and nutrients. Customizable with your favorite fruits and a drizzle of honey or mint for extra flavor, Fruit Salad is the ultimate crowd-pleaser for picnics, parties, or a light, nutritious snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • 1 cup grapes (green or red), halved

  • 1 apple, diced (can use any variety, such as Granny Smith or Fuji)

  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented

  • 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced

  • 1 banana, sliced (optional, best added last to prevent browning)

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice (to prevent browning and add freshness)

  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Fruit:

  1. Wash the Fruits:
Wash all the fruits thoroughly. Hull and slice the strawberries, halve the grapes, peel and dice the apple, peel and segment the orange, peel and slice the kiwi, and cut the banana just before serving to prevent browning. If using fresh pineapple, cut it into bite-sized chunks.

  2. Combine the Fruit:
In a large mixing bowl, combine all the prepared fruits, being careful with the banana slices (if using) as they can bruise easily.

Add the Citrus Juice:

  1. Drizzle the fresh lemon or lime juice over the fruit to prevent browning and add a refreshing zesty flavor.

Sweeten the Salad (Optional):

  1. If you like a sweeter salad, drizzle with honey and toss gently to coat the fruit. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary.

Garnish and Serve:

  1. If desired, garnish the fruit salad with a few fresh mint leaves for added color and a refreshing touch.

Chill and Serve:

  1. Let the fruit salad sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled for the best taste and texture.
