Description

Hawaiian Dinner Rolls are soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet rolls infused with pineapple and coconut flavors. These buttery, tender rolls are perfect for family dinners, holidays, or any time you want a tropical twist on classic bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple juice (warm)

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¼ cup canned crushed pineapple, drained

Instructions

  • Activate Yeast: Combine warm pineapple juice and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk together flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.

  • Combine Wet Ingredients: Beat eggs and softened butter together; stir in crushed pineapple.

  • Make Dough: Add yeast mixture and egg mixture to dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  • Knead Dough: Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  • First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours or until doubled.

  • Shape Rolls: Punch down dough, divide into 12-15 pieces, shape into balls, and place in greased baking dish.

  • Second Rise: Cover and let rolls rise 30-45 minutes until puffy.

  • Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

  • Cool and Serve: Brush with melted butter while warm and serve.

Add ¼ cup shredded sweetened coconut for extra coconut flavor.Brush rolls with honey or pineapple glaze after baking for a sweet finish.Stuff rolls  cheese for a savory variation.Substitute half the flour with whole wheat for a heartier bread.Make mini rolls for sliders or party bites.
