Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate sandwich cookies or chocolate graham crackers, crushed

  • 6 tbsp melted butter

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup whipped topping or heavy cream, whipped

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder or 4 oz melted chocolate

  • 1 can cherry pie filling or 1 ½ cups fresh cherries

  • Optional: chocolate shavings or curls for garnish

Instructions

  • Mix crushed chocolate cookies with melted butter; press firmly into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust. Refrigerate to set.

  • Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.

  • Gently fold in whipped topping or whipped cream until combined.

  • Add cocoa powder or melted chocolate; mix until incorporated for a chocolate cheesecake filling.

  • Spread half the cheesecake mixture over the crust.

  • Layer cherry pie filling or fresh cherries evenly over the cheesecake.

  • Spread remaining cheesecake mixture on top.

  • Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight until firm.
