Description

Tater Tot Casserole is a classic American comfort food featuring seasoned ground beef and mixed vegetables topped with crispy, golden tater tots. This easy-to-make casserole is hearty, cheesy, and perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef

  • Onion (chopped)

  • Garlic (minced)

  • Frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, etc.)

  • Cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup (canned or homemade)

  • Shredded cheddar cheese

  • Tater tots (frozen)

  • Salt and pepper

  • Worcestershire sauce (optional)

  • Olive oil or butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.

  • Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Cook until browned, draining excess fat.

  • Stir in mixed vegetables and cream soup; heat through and combine.

  • Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.

  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.

  • Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until tater tots are crispy and casserole is bubbly.

  • Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner protein.Swap cream of mushroom soup with cream of celery or white sauce.Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor.Use mozzarella or pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar for variety.
