Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken, or turkey (or tofu for vegetarian)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup diced water chestnuts (optional)

1/4 cup shredded carrots

2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari

1 tablespoon fish sauce (optional)

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes or Sriracha (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 cup chopped fresh mint

1 head butter lettuce or romaine leaves, separated and washed

Instructions

Cook Meat or Tofu:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and onion; sauté until fragrant and translucent. Add ground meat or tofu and cook until browned and cooked through. -
Add Vegetables and Sauce:
Stir in water chestnuts and shredded carrots. Add soy sauce, fish sauce (if using), lime juice, brown sugar, and chili flakes. Cook another 2-3 minutes to blend flavors. -
Add Herbs:
Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro and mint. -
Assemble Wraps:
Spoon filling into individual lettuce leaves. Top with optional peanuts, green onions, and a squeeze of lime. -
Serve:
